A contact lens fitting at Ponsioen Optics consists of 3 appointments:
1) Investigate
With a contact lens fitting, the subjective refraction is performed during the first appointment, in addition, the health of the eye is checked with the slit lamp (microscope) and then we calculate the flattening of the cornea with the corneal topographer to determine the correct curvature of the contact lens. determine.
2) Instruction and learning
During the second appointment we teach you how to handle the contact lenses, how to put them in your eye and how to remove the lenses safely. Cleaning the contact lenses is also very important and we give you tips on using facial products and make-up.
At the first appointment we calculate the suitable contact lenses and order trial lenses for you. If you get the contact lenses in easily, you will receive trial lenses to test at home.
3) Checking the trial lenses
At the third appointment you wear a set of trial lenses. You will have this in your eye for at least 2 hours before you come to the appointment. We check the contact lenses for fit and movement and will optimize the power.
If you are still not completely satisfied with the lenses, we will look at another contact lens and, if necessary, a fourth appointment will be made for extra check-ups.
SEMI-ANNUAL CONTACT LENS CHECK
It is essential that you have your eyes checked regularly, preferably every six months, if you wear contact lenses. Do you use Myopia Management Daily Lenses? We recommend that you carry out a check every 3 months. We check the wetting and fit of the contact lenses and optimize the power. If inflammation or damage has occurred in the eye, we can treat it in time.
